Hiding Tells

Do you ever receive that itch? The itch to gamble, to head to the nearest gambling house, to come across a high stakes casino game of Holdem, to sit at a Pontoon table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I like to scratch it.
I also love to watch folks gamble. No 2 poker faces seem equal. When I wager I like to believe I put on a poker face which is impenetrable. But I know I have certain mannerisms. For 1, the only time I smoke is when I play poker or Black jack. And then I chain smoke. But I smoke whether I am succeeding or losing, whether I’ve a very good hand or bad.
I once bet within a weekly poker game. The casino game was usually five card draw. There was a player who wagered with us every single week who always wore a hat. When he was dealt a very good hand, subconsciously, he would start touching and wagering with his hat. Pointless to say, he by no means won.
The very best poker player I ever saw was a man who produced far more actions and signals at a poker table than anybody I had ever met. He was impeccable in the way he dressed. Always an costly suit and tie, shoes shined and nails trimmed. He was meticulous in this manner. And he was generally brushing his pant leg or holding his hands or stacking his chips in neat little piles.
I use to analyze him for long periods of time. I’d tried to see if I could spot his tell. Picking lint off his vest- did this imply he was bluffing? Stacking his chips within a short pile – did this mean he had a excellent hand?
Several years later I bumped into him in a very bar in Boston and we had a beer. I asked him if he had been aware of all those movements he manufactured or if they have been subconscious. He told me that each and every little thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everyone is always checking out everyone else’s poker face. They’re attempting to notice the the tell.
So his program was to provide them lots to consider about. His reasoning was if they have been pondering about him choosing a piece of fuzz off his coat and what it meant they positive weren’t pondering about their cards.
His process was distraction. And it worked for him. In no way give up a method that functions for you.
