Omaha Hi Lo: Basic Outline

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is often times seen as one of the most difficult but well-loved poker games. It’s a game that, even more than normal Omaha poker, aims for action from every level of players. This is the primary reason why a once invisible variation, has grown in acceptance so amazingly.
Omaha hi-low begins exactly like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are handed out to every player. A round of wagering ensues where players can bet, check, or drop out. 3 cards are given out, this is known as the flop. Another sequence of betting ensues. After all the players have in turn called or folded, an additional card is flipped on the turn. a further sequence of betting follows and then the river card is flipped. The entrants will need to put together the best high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is where some entrants get confused. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, where the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha hi lo the player has to utilize precisely three cards from the board, and exactly 2 cards from their hand. Not a single card more, not a single card less. Contrary to regular Omaha, there are two ways a pot could be won: the "higher hand" or the "low hand."
A high hand is exactly how it sounds. It is the strongest hand out of every player’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house. It is the very same concept in almost every poker game.
The lower hand is more complicated, but really opens up the action. When figuring out a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. The low hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an eight and below. The lower hand wins half of the pot, as just like the higher hand. When there’s no lower hand presented, the higher hand wins the whole pot.
