Over the years several types on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer saying "No further wagers." If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with an amount equal to the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money equal to your bet and controlled expectations on your call bet.
