Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Wednesday, 20. April 2022

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the final poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest players in the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha hi-low and hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
