No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.
He started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his success. He knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
