Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the wild west in a fantastic game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the house, not like nearly all other poker games that players compete with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, new players don’t have to worry about other, more knowledgeable individuals taking their moolla.
Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, newcomers will be able to take their time and strategize without needing to make frenzied selections.
It is also easier to enjoy for an extended time with just a small bit of cash after all, to lose, each of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is given seven cards face up and the croupier gets 7 cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the houses.
